Treating Anxiety & Trauma
Through CBT & EMDR
Supporting you through Anxiety

If you're considering using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to tackle anxiety, I'm here to support you every step of the way. CBT is a fantastic approach because it focuses on changing those negative thought patterns and behaviours that can fuel your anxiety. The idea is that our thoughts, feelings, and actions are all connected, so by tweaking the way we think, we can actually influence how we feel and behave.
Together, we can work on recognising what triggers your anxiety and those irrational beliefs that might be holding you back. We'll use tools like cognitive restructuring, exposure therapy, and relaxation techniques to help you manage and reduce those anxious feelings. With consistent practice, you'll find yourself building resilience and gaining a greater sense of control over your anxiety.
I'm here to empower you with practical strategies to help you cope better and achieve a more balanced emotional state. Let's work together on this journey to improve your mental health and well-being!
Supporting you with Trauma

When treating trauma, I can utilise both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support you through different levels of trauma by offering tailored strategies that address your specific needs. Trauma can manifest in different forms, known as "Big T" and "little t" traumas. "Big T" trauma involves significant, life-altering events, often leading to conditions such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). On the other hand, "little t" trauma includes less intense yet distressing experiences, such as interpersonal conflicts or job loss, which, although not meeting the clinical threshold for PTSD, can still affect your mental well-being.
In my practice, I use CBT to help you reframe negative thought patterns associated with both types of trauma. Together, we can work on identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts and replacing them with healthier perspectives. Techniques such as exposure therapy and cognitive restructuring can aid in reducing trauma symptoms, improving emotional regulation, and helping you regain control over your life.
Additionally, EMDR can be particularly effective for processing traumatic memories by using bilateral stimulation to help the brain reprocess the trauma. This method can be beneficial for both "Big T" and "little t" traumas, as it aids in reducing the emotional charge of traumatic memories and promotes adaptive resolution.
Through personalised support using both CBT and EMDR, I aim to empower you on your journey toward healing and resilience, helping you manage trauma symptoms and improve your overall mental well-being.
